Allow me, dear recipient, not to persuade you of the existence or non-existence of God. Ultimately, it is a very personal choice for you and me. Meanwhile, I am pondering the change that has occurred over the past centuries, most starkly expressed by Friedrich Nietzsche in the famous "Gott ist tot" – God is dead. Nietzsche, himself an atheist, through Zarathustra, does not announce the physical death of God but His death in human consciousness, in the awareness and culture of Western societies. This "Empty Pietà" is a reminder of the absent God, the loss of a reference point, the sense of existence of generations that lived before us bound by the ties of religious and mythical stories.
